Bed Size Quilts
This is my first king size quilt which I finished circa 1994. I designed the block in Quilt Pro and paper pieced all the blocks. The entire quilt is ditch quilted. The finished quilt size is 95” by 95”.
I started this quilt in 1996 and I finished it in 1998. I designed the kaleidoscope block in Quilt Pro and paper pieced all the blocks. The border was also paper pieced. The entire quilt is ditch quilted. The finished quilt size is 92” by 92”.
I took a class with Jackie Robinson at Quilt Camp in the Pines July, 2003. Jackie is a great teacher and the class was great. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. The finished quilt size is 105” by 105”.
My Garden Nightmare
I started this quilt in January 2004 after my friend, Sandy, told me about the quilt she was making. Pam Bono designed this quilt which she calls Out of the Darkness. The quilt has 3753 pieces and was constructed using The Angler which was designed by Pam’s husband. I finished the quilt in April 2006. I named the quilt to reflect my experience making this quilt. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. The finished quilt size is 109” by 89”.
Lucie's Pineapple Star
Paper pieced pineapple star block were designed by Sharon Rexroad. Center triangles were fussy cut. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. Quilt finished in 2006. The quilt is 99” by 99”. In Loving Memory of my sister, Lucie Protz 6/25/1943 - 1/10/2010
This quilt was inspired by Shining Star quilt by Debbie Maddy. I saw her on Simply Quilts. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. Quilt finished in 2006. The quilt is 48” by 48”.
Lucie pieced the log cabin blocks circa 1984 after taking a Quilt in the Day log cabin class. The quilt top was languishing in a drawer until 1996 when I insisted that Lucie get this machine quilt and offered to sew on the binding. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. Quilt finished in 2006. The quilt is 108” by 108”. There are matching pillow shams which have not been finished.
Bethany Reynolds was teaching this quilt at Quilting in the Desert, January 2007. It was made with Bethany’s new Geomagic II fabric. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. The top is 92” by 100”. Given to my daughter for her birthday March, 2007.
Radiant Sunshine Quilt
I made this quilt for my daughter, Marcie, in 2011. I used the book Radiant Sunshine & Shadow by Helen Frost and Catherine Skow to make the quilt. The quilt seemed to take on a life of its own and grew to an amazing size. Machine quilted by Jessica Jones. The finished quilt is 126” by 126”.
I started collecting blue and yellow fabric in March 2007 after seeing Robin Strobel’s quilt Spring Fling in her book, Quilter’s Bounty. The quilt is made with a traditional kaleidoscope block. I drew the kaleidoscope block in Electric Quilt and paper pieced 144 7” blocks. Machine quilted by Jessica Jones Gamez. I finished the quilt in March 2013. Finished quilt is 104” by 104”.
Sliced Nine Patch
This quilt was inspired by Right Slice quilt published in Quiltmaker Magazine, November/December 2013. I used 3 batik fabrics, 2 batiks for the nine patch blocks and the remaining batik was inserted into the slashed nice patch blocks. Machine quilted by Jessica Jones Gamez. I finished the quilt August 2014. Finished quilt is 96" by 96".
Quilt design by Judy Niemeyer. Machine quilting by Jessica Jones Gamez. The quilt is 94" by 112" and I used Quilter's Dream wool batting. Quilt was finished March 2015.
New York Garden Trellis
New York Garden Trellis has 195 4 1/2" blocks sashed with white on white fabric with blue cornerstones. The finished quilt is 82" x 92" and was machine quilted by Jessica Jones Gamez. I used Quilter's Dream Wool batting which is now my favorite batting to use in bed quilt.
