Phyl's Quilts & Things

I made this quilt for for my daughter’s birthday, in 1998. I was inspired by the quilt Garden Path in the book Willowwood by Jean Wells. I used size 12 Perle Cotton for the buttonhole stitching. I paper pieced the 6 inch log cabin squares on my Featherweight. The quilt is 64” by 64”.

I attended Quilting in the Desert in 2004 and took a house class with Freddy Moran. Since I had a 1969 VW Beetle and currently drive a 1999 Beetle I could not resist adding the VW Bugs to my house quilt. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. Finished quilt size is 56” by 76”.

I made this quilt for for my daughter’s birthday, in 2004. Mister Boots is Marcie’s black and white cat. I was inspired by the quilt Oh My Stars by Little Miss Sloppy. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. The quilt is 88” by 73 1/2”.

I had a pet duck when I was growing up and just had to make this fun quilt. The quilt was completed in January 2004. Pattern by Window Box Gardens. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith Finished quilt size is 29” by 40”.

I attended Quilting in the Desert in 2005 and took Freddy Moran’s class, dot com. According to Freddy, you can never have too many dot fabrics in your stash and red is a neutral color. Machine quilted on a longarm by Cynthia Smith. Finished quilt size is 63” by 63”.

I machine appliqued this using patterns by Amy Bradley. I redrew the ears on Amy’s schnauzer so they would be floppy over instead of cropped. It is quilted using the BSR on my Bernina 630. I finished the quilt in November 2005. Finished quilt size is 34.75” by 13.25”.

I gave this quilt to my daughter Marcie for her Birthday. Machine quilted by Jessica Jones. Quilt was started in 1995 and finished in 2013. Finished quilt is 60” by 60”.
